Our Programs

The JP II Homeschool Ministry offers a variety of programs designed to support Catholic homeschooling families in their spiritual, social, and educational journey. Our activities provide opportunities for fellowship, learning, and service while strengthening our community bonds.

Program Details

Family Rosary

Join us for regular Family Rosary gatherings where families come together in prayer and reflection on their faith. New this year, we will schedule four quarterly family rosary gatherings. All JPII Homeschool families will be invited to attend. Typically, we start with the rosary and end with some snacks. You are welcome to bring something to share if you'd like.

Field Trips

Educational outings designed to enhance learning experiences outside of home. Our field trips offer hands-on learning opportunities that complement home education, from museums and historical sites to nature centers and cultural venues.

Friday PE

Physical education activities encouraging fitness and teamwork among children. Over the years, Dianna Hartwell and her family have graciously given their time to lead our Friday PE group. They have led us in a variety of sports, such as baseball, kickball, soccer, and miscellaneous court games, including pickleball. We begin with prayer and warm-ups, and then break into some organized sports. It is a very relaxed environment, and there's always time for the kids to just run around and play, and parents to socialize. We try to stay in the Mandarin area since our ministry is based out of St. Joseph's, typically meeting at Chuck Rogers Park or Flynn Park. We need parent helpers every week, so please come with a willingness to help! Ideas for activities are always welcome, so feel free to reach out to Dianna if you have any to share or if you have any questions at all.

New Homeschooler Consulting

Support for families new to homeschooling with guidance and resources. Our experienced homeschool families offer practical advice, curriculum recommendations, and encouragement as you begin this rewarding educational path.

Adopt an Island Service Project

Community service project aimed at teaching stewardship of creation. New this year, we have adopted the "St. Joseph" island with the Grounds Beautification Ministry at St. Joseph's. We will be responsible for caring for this island throughout the year. Once we come up with a date, we will have a sign-up for families who would like to come out and help.
